Red Shield Gunners organise Medical Camp for Ex-Servicemen at Demow

Red Shield Gunners, under the aegis of Spear Corps and in coordination with the Territorial Army organised a Medical Camp for Ex-Servicemen at Demow in Sivasagar district on Monday.

The camp was conducted with the aim of extending dedicated healthcare support and medical assistance to Ex-Servicemen and their families residing in the region. A team of qualified medical personnel from the Army provided a comprehensive range of services during the camp, including health check-ups, medical consultations, basic diagnostic services and guidance on preventive healthcare measures.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic and active participation from veterans of the Armed Forces, who availed themselves of the medical services and engaged meaningfully with Army representatives. For many veterans residing in semi-urban and rural areas, such camps provide access to quality medical care that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.

“It is our duty and privilege to give back to those who gave so much for the nation. This medical camp is a small but sincere effort to ensure that our veterans and their families receive the care and attention they truly deserve. The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s enduring philosophy of “Serving Those Who Once Served the Nation” — a commitment that goes beyond active service and extends to the lifelong welfare of its veterans and their families,” said an Army official associated with the initiative.

Beyond its immediate healthcare benefits, the camp also served as a valuable platform to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the veteran community, promoting a sense of continued belonging and solidarity among those who have served in uniform.
