The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected executive members of the Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) was held on December 18 at the TCS Secretariat-cum-Tagin Heritage Centre in Daporijo, the headquarters of Upper Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh.
The event marked a significant moment for the Tagin community as leaders reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the rich heritage, traditions, and identity of the Tagin tribe. The ceremony was conducted under the Search and Select Committee chaired by Dr Jei Mara, along with senior community members and former office bearers of TCS.
In a unanimous decision, Largi Rigia and Tuter Dulom were re-elected as President and General Secretary of the Tagin Cultural Society for the second consecutive term. Their re-election reflected the confidence the community has placed in their leadership and ongoing initiatives to strengthen Tagin cultural values.
Speaking on the occasion, TCS President Largi Rigia expressed gratitude for the continued trust of the members. “It is an honour to serve the community once again. Our focus will remain on cultural preservation, education, and youth empowerment while promoting unity among all Tagins,” he said.
General Secretary Tuter Dulom echoed similar sentiments, stating that the society would work with renewed energy to protect and promote traditional Tagin practices and folk heritage.
“We intend to carry forward the unfinished tasks of the previous term and encourage younger generations to take active interest in our cultural roots,” he added.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including former Home Minister Daklo Nidak and former MLA of Dumporijo, Larbin Nasi, who congratulated the new team and lauded TCS’s consistent efforts in community development.
