Sriram Taranikanti, Director of the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie chaired a high-level review meeting with Sivasagar district officials on Wednesday, focusing on enhancing administrative efficacy and public service delivery.
The meeting, held at the District Commissioner’s Office, brought together heads of various government departments. In his address, the senior 1992-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre emphasised the critical role of district administration as the government’s primary interface with citizens. He shared expert insights on streamlining departmental functioning, improving the implementation of welfare schemes, and ensuring tangible public benefits through efficient governance.

“Administrative proficiency must ultimately translate into improved quality of life for the citizen. The execution of policies at the grassroots is what truly matters,” LBSNAA Director Taranikanti stated during the discussions.
Sivasagar District Commissioner Aayush Garg, a 2016-batch IAS officer highlighted local initiatives and challenges. “Engagements like these provide crucial strategic perspective and reinforce our focus on citizen-centric administration,” he said.

Other key officials present included CEO of Zila Parishad Satish Chandra Thakuria, District Development Commissioner Pabitra Kumar Das, Additional DC Geetali Duwara, and Additional SP Moidul Islam, alongside Assistant Commissioners KN Chandana Jahnavi, Shubhajit Khaund, Ganesh Chandra Baro and department heads.
The interaction is viewed as a significant effort to bridge theoretical administrative training with practical field-level execution, aiming to equip officers with the nuanced understanding required for effective local governance.
