SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter to Host Pandit Omkar Dadarkar for Three-Day Classical Music Series

The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), Dibrugarh Chapter, will present a musical treat for students and connoisseurs with a series of Hindustani classical vocal recitals by the eminent vocalist Pandit Omkar Dadarkar.

The events will be held from January 5 to 7 across several prominent educational institutions in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.

Pandit Dadarkar, one of the most revered vocalists of his generation, is celebrated for his refined gayaki and profound classical foundation. An exponent trained in the Gwalior and Jaipur-Atrauli gharanas, he has graced major festivals and prestigious venues worldwide. He is also a recipient of the distinguished Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.

The recitals will be hosted at Oil India Higher Secondary School in Duliajan, Delhi Public School in Dibrugarh, Assam Heights Public School, and Budding Buds Senior Secondary School in Tinsukia, as well as at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.

Pandit Dadarkar will be accompanied by the skilled harmonium player Mohd. Akhlaq and tabla exponent Anchit Majhi.

This initiative reaffirms the chapter’s enduring commitment to promoting cultural awareness among the youth. In 2025 alone, SPIC MACAY Dibrugarh Chapter conducted 35 diverse programs across Assam.
