Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, unveiled the new book “Jyotisnata,” authored by esteemed academician Prof Jyoti Borgohain, at a ceremony held at Nandalal Borgohain City College in Dibrugarh on Monday.

The book launch was attended by a host of dignitaries. The gathering included College Principal, Dr Sanjeevananda Borgohain, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Rituparna Baruah and Assam State Housing Board Chairman Pulak Gohain.

Dibrugarh Mayor Dr Saikat Patra, Deputy Mayor Ujjal Phukon, Dibrugarh Development Authority Chairman Ashim Hazarika, and Dibrugarh Zila Parishad President Pushpanjali Sonowal were also present alongside faculty members and students of the college.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister Sonowal highlighted the profound role of literature in society. He remarked, “A book is a mirror of society. Its pages reflect the diverse experiences, thoughts, and intellectual pursuits of humanity. ‘Jyotisnata’ is one such mirror, offering us valuable insights.”
