A Recruitment Job Fair was organised by the District Employment Exchange and Model Career Centre, Jorhat, at Lahowal College in Dibrugarh district on Friday, providing employment opportunities to job seekers across the district.
The job fair, held from 9am to 3pm, was organised under the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Government of Assam, in association with Lahowal College and Edupur Employment Services Pvt Ltd. The event witnessed participation from 228 job aspirants seeking various employment opportunities.
Principal of Lahowal College, Dr Jyoti Prasad Dutta, inaugurated the fair in the presence of senior officials from the employment department. Deputy Director of Employment Dibrugarh Zone, Sailendra Kumar Gohain, and Deputy Director of Employment Jorhat Zone A Rauf were also present at the event.
A diverse range of prominent companies participated as recruiters, offering positions across multiple sectors. Among the participating organisations were RD Automobile, Srimanta Sankardev Hospital, HCL Technologies, Hotel Tree Fern, Bimal Auto Agency, IAS Tangent, SBI Life and Assam Trading Company.
“The job fair provided an excellent platform for connecting job seekers with potential employers,” an official said.
The event aimed to bridge the gap between employers and job aspirants, offering candidates direct interaction with recruiters and on-the-spot interview opportunities. The participation of companies from various sectors, including automobile, healthcare, information technology, hospitality and financial services, provided aspirants with a wide range of career options to explore.
The Recruitment Job Drive 2025 is part of the ongoing efforts by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training to promote employment generation and skill development across Assam. Authorities said indicated that similar job fairs will be organised in other districts to benefit more job seekers in the coming months.
