In a major initiative to address workplace concerns, Golaghat Police organised a two-day interaction-cum-training session exclusively for women police personnel across all ranks, including Women Home Guards, on December 3 and 4.
The sessions, which saw participation from 101 women police personnel, were organised and coordinated by two DSP Probationers, Intelligence Branch Inspector (IBI), and Reserve Officers, all women officers. The program focused on creating a platform for female officers to voice their concerns and find solutions to workplace challenges.

The training primarily addressed critical issues faced by women police personnel, including inadequate accommodation facilities, duty detailment concerns, insufficient sanitation and restroom facilities, lack of separate washrooms in police stations and outposts, transportation issues for victims, and work-life balance challenges during prolonged duty hours. Each issue was discussed in detail and addressed individually during the sessions.
On December 4, Somalin Subhadarsini, Commandant of the Armed Police Training Centre (APTC) Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, joined the session as a special guest. She interacted extensively with the participants and provided meaningful suggestions after listening to their concerns.

“Women police personnel play a vital role in law enforcement, and it is our responsibility to ensure they have proper facilities and support systems. Their concerns are legitimate and need immediate attention,” Commandant Subhadarsini remarked during her interaction.
Golaghat Senior Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh joined both sessions during the concluding segments and offered valuable guidance to the participants. He emphasised the department’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by women officers.
