Dibrugarh University Welcomes 20 International Students in Induction Programme

Dibrugarh University held an induction programme on November 7 for 20 international students who recently joined various academic programmes at the institution. The event marked the beginning of their academic journey in the historic northeastern university.

Vice Chancellor Prof Jiten Hazarika led the programme, alongside Registrar Dr Paramananda Sonowal, Director of the Office of International Affairs Prof Surajit Borkotokey, Dean Faculty of Education Prof Manashee Gogoi, Dr Gauree Shankar Das, and faculty members from various departments.

The induction provided comprehensive information about academic opportunities and facilities available at Dibrugarh University. Students were introduced to the university’s institutional structure and given insights into the broader context of Dibrugarh and the Northeast region, helping them understand their new academic and cultural environment.

International Students

The programme facilitated interaction between the new international students and university administrators, creating an opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with campus life and academic expectations. Faculty members from various departments attended to provide subject-specific guidance and answer questions about their respective programmes.

With the addition of these 20 students, Dibrugarh University now hosts 49 international students across its various programmes of study.
