In a moment of immense pride for Assam, Cadet Parishmita Borgohain, a student from Manohari Devi Kanoi Girls’ (MDKG) College, Dibrugarh, has been selected to represent India in the National Cadet Corps’ (NCC) prestigious Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) to Nepal.
The programme, scheduled from November 2 to November 10, will see Cadet Borgohain, a member of the 63 Assam Battalion NCC, join a select group of cadets showcasing India’s youth talent on an international platform. This opportunity comes on the heels of her remarkable achievements at the Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi, where she was honoured as the Best Cadet and also received the Best Cadet Award from the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER).

An official from the NCC Directorate NER stated, “Cadet Parishmita’s exemplary performance and leadership qualities have consistently set her apart. Her selection for the YEP is a testament to her dedication and the high standards of training in our directorate.”
The daughter of Projnanjyoti and Jahnabi Borgohain from Gohain Gaon, Dhemaji, Parishmita is described as a disciplined and academically excellent student who inspires her peers.
Expressing her gratitude, Cadet Borgohain told globereporter.in, “This is a dream come true. I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support from my family, my college, and the officers at Group HQ and the 63 Assam Battalion NCC. I am honoured to have this chance to represent my nation and my home state of Assam.”

Her selection is celebrated as a significant achievement, not just for her and her family, but for MDKG College and the entire NCC fraternity in the North East.
