DHSK College Hosts Special Talk on Time Management

A special talk on ‘Time Management and Smart Study Techniques’ was held at Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi (DHSK) College (Autonomous), emphasising the critical importance of utilising time as our most valuable resource. The event was jointly organised by the Department of Computer Science, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Department of Biotechnology on November 17.

The session featured Jagrit Sharma, a motivational speaker and Academic Director of Parul University, Gujarat, as the key speaker. Sharma captivated the audience with his insights, beginning with a powerful statement: “Time can be spent but not earned.” He elaborated that time is the only resource given by God equally to everyone and stressed that its mismanagement is a primary cause of stress. “Our future will not be directionless only if we can manage the present time properly,” Sharma stated, urging students to immerse themselves in productive activities like focused studying, skill development, and setting clear educational goals.

DHSK College Principal Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia

The programme was inaugurated by DHSK College Principal, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia, who echoed the sentiment on time’s invaluable nature. “Time is very precious and important. Once it passes, it does not come back,” Dr Saikia said. He further reinforced the concept by adding, “Money can be earned again and again, but time cannot be earned,” highlighting that individuals should feel a sense of responsibility for wasting this non-renewable asset.

The event was moderated by Prof Harjinder Singh, Head of the Computer Science Department. The session was also attended by Krishna Nath, Regional Head of Parul University, along with other university representatives. The visiting Academic Director was given a warm welcome by NCC cadets, students, and faculty. The college acknowledged his contribution by presenting him with an appreciation certificate and a set of photographs from the event, marking a successful and insightful gathering aimed at empowering students with essential life skills for academic and personal success.
