CRPF Officer Conquers 1000-Km Assam Cycling Expedition 

In a remarkable feat of physical and mental fortitude, Sohan Singh Rawat, an Assistant Commandant with the CRPF posted in Dibrugarh, Assam successfully completed a challenging 1000-km endurance cycling expedition across Assam, finishing first among the participants. The arduous journey, which connected Guwahati to Dibrugarh and back, was completed in a total time of 71 hours and 44 minutes.

The expedition commenced from Guwahati on November 20 at the break of dawn. Tracing a demanding route through Nagaon, Tezpur, Bishwanath Chariali, and North Lakhimpur, the cyclists navigated to Dibrugarh via the Bogibeel bridge before turning back to Guwahati on the same path. Of the nine cyclists who began the challenge, three were forced to quit midway, highlighting the extreme difficulty of the ride.

Officer Rawat emerged as the standout performer among the six who completed the journey. His actual time spent cycling was an impressive 49 hours and 45 minutes, securing him the top position in the endurance test.

Speaking about the immense challenge, a triumphant Rawat stated, “This expedition was more than just a physical test, it was a battle of willpower. Pushing through fatigue and covering such a vast distance on a bicycle is an experience that redefines your limits. I am thrilled to have completed it and proud to have finished first.”

The extraordinary effort by the CRPF officer sets a new benchmark for endurance and determination, highlighting the exceptional standards of physical fitness upheld by the security forces. His achievement will serve as an inspiration to fitness enthusiasts and aspiring athletes across the region.
