The initiative came about after Nibir’s father, Ankur Baruah, submitted a special request to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, expressing his son’s wish to serve as SP for a day. With approval from the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, the proposal was quickly accepted.

On the appointed day, Nibir was formally welcomed into the SP’s office, donned the police uniform, and took his place in the SP’s chair.
