Assam Teacher Wins Silver at National Science Conference for Innovative NLP-Based Learning Model

Bornali Mohan, a teacher from Dikom High School in Dibrugarh, has brought laurels to Assam by winning the Silver Award at the 1st National Teachers’ Science Conference (NTSC–2025) held at NH Goel World School, Raipur, from November 4 to 7.

Her groundbreaking research integrating Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with the CEMR model to enhance science learning and student engagement, aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, received high acclaim from the jury. The project was guided by Dr Jitu Ranjan Chetia from the Department of Chemistry at Dibrugarh University.

“This recognition validates our efforts to transform science education through innovative pedagogical approaches that prioritise student engagement and cognitive development,” Bornali Mohan said.

The prestigious conference, organised by NOSTC, Prasansa Foundation, and SAC–ISRO, brought together 157 teachers from 29 states across India to showcase cutting-edge teaching methodologies and research in science education.

Dr Jitu Ranjan Chetia, her mentor, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “Bornali’s work demonstrates how neuroscience and linguistic programming can revolutionise classroom teaching, making science more accessible and engaging for students.”

Expressing her gratitude, Bornali Mohan acknowledged the contributions of several key supporters. “I am deeply grateful to my mentor Dr Jitu Ranjan Chetia, Dr Samiran Borah, Inspector of Schools, Dibrugarh, along with my family, well-wishers, and students for their unwavering guidance, encouragement, and continuous support throughout this journey,” she said.
