Assam Rifles Brings Healthcare to Remote Arunachal Village, Serves Over 500 Residents

The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a Medical and Wellness Camp at Moktowa village, Dadam in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on November 28, providing essential healthcare services to remote border communities under the aegis of HQ 25 Sector.

The initiative, designed to address the healthcare gap in far-flung border areas, witnessed overwhelming participation with more than 500 villagers, including women, children, and elderly residents, availing themselves of free medical services.

Expert medical officers, nursing staff, and health workers conducted thorough health check-ups and distributed essential medicines to those in need. The camp placed special emphasis on women’s health, geriatric care, and child wellness—critical areas often underserved in remote regions.

“This initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of the Assam Rifles towards the well-being of the local population and strengthening the bond between the forces and the community,” camp organisers stated.

The services offered ranged from general health check-ups and diagnosis to preventive care, counseling, and medicine distribution. Beyond immediate medical attention, the camp also conducted crucial awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, lifestyle diseases, and preventive health practices, aiming to equip villagers with knowledge for long-term wellness.

The healthcare intervention proved particularly significant for residents of Moktowa village, where access to quality medical facilities remains limited due to geographical remoteness. Many villagers traveled considerable distances to benefit from the free medical camp.
