Around 500 students from Dibrugarh district participated in a Career Counselling cum Vocational Guidance programme organised on Tuesday at the Dibrugarh District Library auditorium. The event was held under the aegis of the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship department of the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam, and was coordinated by the District Employment Exchange, Dibrugarh.

The programme aimed to provide students with valuable insights into various career options and vocational training opportunities, helping them make informed decisions about their future. Resource persons from different institutions engaged with the students, offering guidance on skill development, employment prospects, and entrepreneurship.

An official from the Directorate stated, “Our goal is to bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping young minds with the necessary information and training. Career counselling helps students identify their strengths and explore suitable career paths effectively.”

Students expressed appreciation for the guidance provided. One participant shared, “The session helped me understand the wide range of opportunities and made me more confident about planning my career.”
The event also highlighted various government schemes and initiatives aimed at boosting skill development and employment in the region. With a focus on practical vocational skills, the programme encouraged students to consider both traditional and emerging career fields. The interactive sessions and Q&A segments allowed students to clarify their doubts and receive personalised advice based on their interests and academic backgrounds.
